Many Thanks Gift Card Holder

Good evening!  Jess here!  Before I get started with my project did you hear that A Blog Named Hero has announced it's 2017 Design Team Call?!  Find all the details here.  I've been a member of the team since 2015 and I LOVE it!  I love getting to play with some of my favorite Hero Arts products and getting to combine them with some of the best and brightest companies in the industry!  Plus our leadership team is amazing!  I highly encourage you to apply!

Okay, back to business... ;) This month we're teaming up with Ellen Hutson and I decided to mix the cute Coffee Cup Tag set with some of Ellen's products to create a gift card holder.  Unfortunately I keep forgetting that this envelope die was an exclusive product in the May 2016 My Monthly Hero kit but you can either make your own envelope or use this as inspiration for a full-sized card! :)
To start I die-cut the envelope with kraft paper.  Then I stamped the cup, lid, and snowflakes with unicorn white pigment ink.  I blasted it with my heat gun to set it and then colored the cup with colored pencils.  Next I stamped the cup again with versamark and heat-embossed it with ultra high embossing powder.  I didn't quite expect this but the embossing powder seemed to turn the ink slightly grey which looked pretty cool.  Since the stamp has open sections for the design the versamark and embossing powder didn't cover up the entire design but that created even more texture! ;)

Then I fussy cut a sleeve and stamped the sentiment from Coffee Cup Tags and adhered it over the cup.  Finally I die-cut the Ellen Hutson Many Thanks word die from dark red cardstock and adhered it to the gift card holder.

And that's my take on the texture challenge! :) There are a few more days to enter for a chance to win a prize from Ellen Hutson!  I can't wait to see what you'll create!  Thanks so much for visiting and have a great day!

Thanks a bunch!

Good afternoon stampers!
Alisha here with another card for our challenge using products from the ever wonderful,

Today's card is a classic layout that I go to when I don't want to spend more than half the afternoon fussing with different layouts or color schemes.  We've all had those day right?  Ya' know, when we don't necessarily want clean and simple but we also don't want to go to war with every color of card stock you have. That was what I had in mind and I absolutely adore this card.  The best part is Ellen Hutson's stamp set because there are so many different images that work perfectly for this layout!

A very big Mahalo to the amazing peeps at Ellen Hutson for sharing their products with us!!

Now be sure to join us if you have some time to create with our challenge theme for your chance at winning great products fron Ellen Hutson as well.  We'd love to see what you come up with!

Have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by!

Creating Texture with Die Cuts

Happy Tuesday!! Kristina here today with some more Texture Effects for our current challenge!
Embossing folders just don't do it for me and embossing paste is great and all, but sometimes I don't feel like cleaning up the mess! I love the way cover dies create an embossed look relatively easy, but with much more dimension. This was a quick and simple card I threw together with some die cut and colored images from Hero Arts new Holiday Animals set.
There's still time to enter our Texture challenge this month! Head over HERE for all the deets.

Until Next Time...

Sock Monkey Surprise!

Hi there! Michelle Lupton here today, to share a fun birthday card using the new set from Ellen Hutson, designed by Kimberly Wiener, called "Sock Monkey Surprise"!
I added a bunch of texture to the background, using embossing paste over the top of the Hero Arts Swirl Stencil. I also added some twine for some extra texture.

Thanks so much to Ellen Hutson for letting us at A Blog Named Hero play with all these new goodies this month!
Have you entered our challenge yet?

 If not, get onto it!
